Temple University: Howard Gittis Student Center

Temple University completed a major renovation of the Howard Gittis Student Center Food Court to provide students, faculty and staff with a community space on campus. The updated finishes, lighting, furniture and seating configurations have improved the overall aesthetic and traffic flow in one of Temple’s most popular buildings.

The bold environmental graphics support a marketplace atmosphere for students, faculty and staff to connect and recharge, while delivering a distinct Temple University campus experience.

Exit Design created custom graphic elements throughout the food court to activate and enliven the environment.

We integrated the existing Temple brand identity into the space through the bold application of color, messaging, and patterns—such as the “Owl” and “T” marks, new trash and recycling stations icons, and a vivid palette that complements the “Temple Red.”
